Headache

A headache is characterized by a pain located in the head or the cervical region, which arises due to several factors. According to the World Health Organization, headaches are the third leading cause of disability. They may be divided into primary headaches (the disease is the headache itself) which are the most frequent; and secondary ones (the headache is just a symptom of another problem). There are factors that can precipitate headaches, such as alcohol consumption, excessive coffee, insufficient hours of sleep, strong smells or poorly corrected vision. The treatment of primary headaches is more complex because in general they are recurrent and incurable. However, following correction of the above-mentioned habits it is possible to lead a normal life with a minimal or nonexistent disability. As for secondary headaches, their treatment involves treatment of the disease responsible for their onset.
