Migraine
A migraine is a particular type of headache that is characterized by a throbbing pain on one side of the head or both, which usually worsens with exposure to light, noise and is associated with nausea and vomiting. Migraines are more common in women, the specific causes being unknown. It is known that the trigger for migraine attacks varies from individual to individual, and this may not even exist for some people. Immediately before the migraine episode, some symptoms, known as "aura" may appear which can involve visual changes (flashes, spots or bright pictures) or even numbness in the limbs of the body. The diagnosis of migraine is essentially done with the history described by the patient and its treatment involves some prescribed medication options, adapted for each case.
