Psoriasis
Psoriasis is a chronic, non-contagious disease with auto-imune origin. This disease affects the skin with red itchy scaly plaques. An identifiable sign of the disease consists in obtaining a hemorrhage point after removing a scaly patch of skin. Psoriasis may also affect the nails and joints. About 1/3 of the people with psoriasis also suffer from painful joints, especially if between 30-40 years of age. Although there is no permanent cure for the condition, some treatment options are available for symptom relief, such as lotion and creams or, in more severe cases, prescribed medication for oral intake may be necessary.
